Excellent counter! I wrote a couple of rejoinders in the thread I cited above (as American Dream) and I think we should keep doing it. As long as we are presenting facts and not get too emotional, we can reach over to the few sensible people in these organizations.

Hallo, is anybody who is either aged out or has kids that will age out soon/near future, willing to talk to a journalist?? The issue will be reported to a wide audience including law makers. Please come forward and let me know. If this particular journalist has already contacted you then I would highly encourage you to provide the necessary information.

It is a good thing to have a rally for creating more awareness. But if number of persons turns up is a few hundreds then that is going to be a get together than the rally. Still that could be ok if something is better than nothing. If 500k people are waiting for GC then 1% is 5000. Or even 10% of IV membership turns up then around 3000 should come.But I doubt that much will come in this hard economy. If atleast 1% of them GC waiters are not turning up then reason must be either GC is not that much critical for most of them or the numbers are wrong. But if more than 3000 will come that is going to be great achivement for IV.
Those placards are really heavy. Add to it the weight of suits. You won't even realize the weather is cold :-)

Before you criticize IV pls read all the posts written by us. Every now and then members demand updates. Well, the updates are on the homepage and the posts we write. There are media stories that have appeared recently. There are events we have been participating and there are action items like state chapters we want all members to participate.
Pls. ask yourself if you have signed up yet for the state chapters, contributed money and efforts, brought more members into IV... before you ask IV to answer you everytime you make demands. Update cannot be a date we can tell you when our bill is coming up. All our efforts are going to lead to that final result. It is the combined effort of every IV member that will produce results not just an effort of some small group of IV members. Every member of IV is important in the success of our organization.
We undestand that there is frustration and we too are frustrated due to retrogression and this is our motivation to work as a volunteer. We do ask members to contribute from time to time because it is needed in order to continue our struggle. Core members have not taken a single dollar on travel whenever they have travelled to DC or elsewhere. That itself is a testament to the personal dedication and sacrifice of some core members that have spent a lot of their savings till now. It was only in the recent MA event we were happy to hear invitation to stay in their places instead of hotel, from the IV membners that attended.
We try to update members and give them some realistic updates rather than speculations. Other lawyer websites and groups post some speculations to stir up their members and show that they are actively working. Pls. understand that we would like to give update when there is anything concrete to share. IV is on top of it and we are aggresively working and whenever we see even a small window of opportunity we jump on it and do whatever we can.
Pls continue to visit IV siteregularly so that you can see all the activites we are planning these days. After the MA event, this Thursday and Friday some core members are travelling to NJ to attend the event in Princeton. This weekend from 9 dec till 13 I will be in Indianapolis. Please clarify from a poster first before posting a judgement on anybody.
To me, whoever doesn't clear an entrance exam in India doesn't deserve to be awarded a regular B.Tech degree. That would rule out all of Maharashtra colleges. (In mid 90's .Maharashtra was only state in India which would give admission on merit basis,whereas in Rest of India ,even if you get 97% in CBSE, you are not eligible for BE degree anywhere)
Some one from IIT/MIT/Harvard would rule out everybody who has not done a BE from these premier institutes.
But of course, my biases and personal prejudices irrelevant while answering some one's questions.When we enter professional life, only thing which matters is technical and communication skills.
There are better programmer from 3 yr B.Sc + NIIT Diploma pool than some one from IIT Mechanical Engg pool.
So What do you do?

I just checked my CPA who filed my taxes , who confirmed me to file the form..if the amount crosses 10000$ It looks like it's mandatory....She defined if you have SSN and used 1040 to file taxes...You must have to declare that.

Go to your pcp and get everything done and then submit paper work to ins physcian..save tone of monay...for photos..go to CVS pharmacy...they are the cheapest...

Tired of being waiting for a signal from Ombudsman's office, I sent an email on Jan 24/08 asking for an acknowledgment or something regarding the form 7001 I sent on Nov 7, 2007.
I attached a copy of the original form that I had previously saved in pdf format.
Next day they got back to me with this message "USCIS CAO responded to your case problem inquiry in a letter dated January 23, 2007, which you will receive in the postal mail accordingly."
Jan 23! (very convenient :D ).
I received the letter (it was sent Jan 24 :rolleyes: ) and it's just the acknowledgment of my inquiry received as if it was just received. They ask me to wait 45 days, upon receipt = January 23, 2008.
