I am not able to find my 2005 1040, i have the 1040's for 2004 and 2006. I have W-2's for the last 6 years............
Can someone tell me what to do....... will really appreciate that.........
W2 and Tax returns are not part of the "Initial eveidence" for filing 485 . My attorney asked only latest returns and all w2. However get the documents from IRS as they will help you incase of RFE for which the time frame to respond is very short

there is nothing to panic here.... and please dont flood the USCIS with phone calls again again... let them do the job...
and when the time comes we'll see.... i am already sick of it... no need to sound the alarms yet

While filing for I 485, I was wondering if I can file for my wife's EAD and AP and dont apply for mine (at this time) as I am not going to change the job in next few months. So I will keep working on my H1 (valid till 2009) and she can work on her EAD? Is it possible and legal to do ?

Thanks for all the analysis of the Frist's and Specter's Bill. For some people including me who is not all that familiar with all the immigration terms as others in this forum are, can someone tell me if Frist and Specters bill enforce hard country limits? or remaining visas from a perticular category E.g. Eb2 or Eb3 will be used for people without applying the per country cap?

I am talking about post mid term, before New congress takes charge(Jan 20 or so). After november, the existing congress will be in power for two more months, where things can happen. I don't think GOP will win as much as everyone is thinking. It still will be democratic majority in congress and senate.

Congrats. This is a good sign as TSC seems to working by PD instead of RD. According to TSC their processing dates are at Jul 16, 2007. I hope the keep the good work and go by PD. I am Jul, 04 PD with RD of Aug 2, 07.

We just saw "Card production ordered" status change on our 485 applications.
So this proves that TSC is indeed processing 485 apps.
Our 485 apps were originally filed with TSC, then transferred to NSC in Dec 2007, again transferred back to TSC in Apr 2008.
Its been a long wait!! Hopefully we see a lot of approvals for people stuck in this for a while.

This is the first time I disagree with you. When you pay tax, either you pay as an individual or jointly depending on your condition. Govt tax you less if you have dependents and more if you are single. Even if you have single person earning in the family but if you have multiple dependents, you are eligible for tax discounts (or in this case tax rebate check). There is no question of H4 comes here as long as you have one member in the family earning and you are his/her dependent.
What if you have an american with 6-7 dependent kids? Would you say that you do not want to subsidize him since he has so many non-earning members in his family. Same goes with an american women who wants to take care of her kids instead of going to work. How does that make it different from H4.
I'm not sure what were you thinking when wrote that post.

my reasoning was this. there is no such thing as a free lunch...any rebates we get this year will have to be balanced out in our tax returns for the year 2008. that means higher taxes for people who pay taxes.
but it looks like no body wants to think about that or deal with that..therefor i officially take a step back from my previous position..hope all ur spouses and children and parents and other dependents all get a rebate.
plus i think i got some major bad karma by posting my views on this thread..i ended up with a scratched cornea when i woke up on the 1st. It was one of the most painful experience in my life...so please ...i eat crow...let everyone get rebates...please stop giving me a bad reputation and really offensive comments.

When i contacted USCIS Immigration Officer ( not the customer rep) they acknowledged delays and said it may go through middle of November unless we seek highlights from higher officials to print our cards at a different center or get an urgent fix we are going no where... Once I send this info to IV Core WINDOW IS CLOSED on this topic./..

When you are working on H1 here instead of india because you can earn better and when you are taking away job from american citizen....how can you argue like this?
I have many reasons for bringing nanny here....
1) I want a person who is making 100 $ per month to earn more (atleast 1000 $ per month ...right??)
2) If she would come here, she can support her family and some day her boy can come here for study or something....
3) I want somebody who understands my culture and the way i want to raise my kid.
4) I can get somebody from new jersy but mostly i would get illegal migrant...which i am not comfortable with.
Apart from my personal reasons, one simple economic rule, if you can get cheap labor, you don't want to spend more....that's why cos hiring you instead of American citizen,and outsourcing working great....
I really like your theory of "husband with cribbing wife", but unfortunately i m the wife, who is working 40+ hrs with fortune 500 company and planning to start her own company, whose husband keeps travelling (consulting) as he cann't change his job until GC.
With all odds working against me, I want peace of mind that my kid is in the safe hand, He is not sent back from certified day care only because he is sick...
And if i tell the story of the femal whom I wants to bring here....you would start crying...:-)....

Second one - goes like this - I heard Husband saying, his wife can not work here and take care of the kid , so they deicded to leave my daughter ( just one year old ) in india.
I cursed this materealistic world.

I am working with my green card sponsorship company A on EAD.I have Found a job which is contract(company B) to hire(to company C).The contract period would be 1 to 1.5 years and then Company C wants to hire me. Company B is ready to file my EB2 perm. So if I am able to clear the labor and I140(port EB3 date) stages in 1 to 1.5 years then can I immediately join company C or not? The thing is that Company C won't wait long for me to get first green card and then hire me.

Hi, I just found this website and it's EXCELLENT! My PD is May 2004, RIR, Texas, still no 45 day letter and I'm on my 6th year of H1 visa. My lawyer has no idea when I will get the 45 day letter (can't blame him though). But I did hear from someone that for all those whose PD is 2004, 45 day letter should arrive by June 2006, and for PD in 2005, 45 day letter should arrive by Oct 2006. Did anyone else hear this too, is there any truth to it??
