What they need is some vaseline applied to their brains!! They need better equipment to capture the prints, is what they need. Finger printing has come a LONG LONG way. These days the FBI can identify based on a partial print. Here I give them all 10 prints individually and they cant identify them?
The people at the Philadelphia local FP office have NO clue what they are doing! Then again they work for the Government they do not need to know what they are doing! Cant wait to get my GC and join one of those jobs!!:p

Some background on the question I have:
Background:
I am on H1b working fulltime (permanent) with an american IT product dev company. Have exactly 2 yrs and a month left out of my 6 years. My Perm Labor was applied Aug 15th 2006 (EB3) and I-140 was filed (at NSC) with a receipt date of Oct 10 2006.
Although the current dates for EB3 are far behind, I am contemplating on getting my I-140 converted to premium processing by paying the additional $1000 from my pocket and hopefully get the approval under 15 days. In the normal route, I-140 approval at NSC is taking very long.
The reason I am contemplating on getting I-140 approved quickly via premium process is because: "I am told that with an approved labor & an approved I-140 (NO 485), I can change jobs (employers) and still retain the priority date from my previous labor certification."
1. Is the above statement true?
2. Do I have to wait 6 months after I-140 approval for the above to be true?
3. Can the past employer revoke the I-140 despite it being approved putting things in jeopardy?
4. I am told that the new employer has to start the labor certification from scratch and when applying for I-140 again use the old priority date. But should this new labor be submitted before the start of the last year of my H1b in order to be able to apply for 7th year & beyond extensions? Typicially a new employer starts the GC process after 6 months service and the perm process of filing the labor again takes upto 6 months just to get the labor submitted. So I might be into my 6th by the time a new labor is filed.
5. Till today, I don't have any documents for my labor or I-140. All I have is the I-140 receipt number. Do I have to get specific documents (like labor certification doc or I-140 approval papers) from my currently employer's attorney when I do change?
In short, if getting my I-140 approved by premium processing provides me with the flexibility to change employers, then I don't mind paying for premium processing. Wanted your insights on the same.
Any other pros and cons appreciated.

Don't hate India that much man.. What's up with quit India movement. I'd say India has better employment opportunities, at least in IT in India than both Australia and Canada, but then it's everyone's individual preference.

I had applied for EAD 1st week of March....paper based filing. Got my EAD yesterday, so it took about a month for processing.
I got a 2 year EAD - technically 21 months because the Start Date on my new EAD is the date they processed my app - which is 4/02/09 - but my old EAD was valid until 6/30/09.
When I check online, I still cannot find my case #. So if you�re having the same issue, don�t worry I think TSC case status app is down.

I am going to ask my friend in chemistry to get his students visit this thread. They may pick up interesting ideas for a graduation project. What next? Thanks mwin - Are there any USCIS or DOL laws which state that i have a right to get copies of all these docs like LCA, 129, withdrawal letter, etc...! even though i will not work for that employer.!!...Should i worry about this pending H1B especially when my wife already has her current H1B valid...Would extension on this current H1b be a problem.?? I am having trouble with my employer and the situation could lead to my layoff very soon.
I filed my I485 this July 19, and hence, still have some time before I can use AC21. My I140 is approved and I just received a mail yesterday that mine & spouse's EAD cards are approved and I expect to receive them soon. I have about a months vacation hours accumulated and I wish to use these to search for a new job.
I would appreciate if someone can answer the following questions:
1) Can I use EAD to join some other company at this stage? If yes, I believe the job title & salary has to be in similar conditions.
2) If I leave my present company, would the employer know that they need to withdraw I140 (My management is quite dumb when it comes to these matters but they know that they need to inform USCIS when H1B person is terminated)
Please suggest the best course of action for me. Your help is truly appreciated!

Stick with your employer until Dec 19th. Stall any way that you can! (if your receipt date is Jun 19th)
Then quit. Use you EAD to get another "similar" job
If that is not possible, then the safest bet is to get an H1 transfer (to keep your status in case your employer withdraws the I-140).
If your employer does not withdraw your I-140 by Dec 19th then you just have to wait for your GC (of course make sure that you are doing a "similar" job).
If your employer does withdraw your I-140 then start your GC process again from the new employer. You can keep your priority dates.
