We could have done nothing to nominate McCain as president. We don't have voting rights. All we can do is express opinion.
Don't go overboard in blaming obama for this memo. Administration has nothing to do with a USCIS memo. Memo might have been poorly worded that's all. It has to be corrected. IV core is working on it.
Even though Obama and democrats are perceived as socialists, immigrant community would benefit more under democrats than GOP. Under GOP we would have remained in this limbo for years altogether. GOP cannot pass any favorable immigration bill even if they want to because of the anti-immigrant/racist supporters behind them.
IMO July fiasco (making everything current) was the side effect of CIR 2007. USCIS/DOS didn't do a mistake there. That was intentional move by DOS in anticipation of a passage of CIR. When they were sure that CIR won't pass, they reverted the bulletin back and rest is history. Who was behind CIR 2007 push ? Mainly democrats. McCain and Bush just gave the required support.
Who created AC21 ? Democrats.
Despite all the immaturity of Mr Change, we can only expect a relief from Democrats. If Mr Change continues his protectionist policies, America is going to lose in the long run. Earlier he realizes that, better for America.
Before judging IV core, try to become a Donor/work closely with IV core by emailing info@immigrationvoice.org. They work smarter than most of us can even imagine.

I am in a similar boat as my AP petition was approved on 11/16 and the status was changed to, 'Document Production or Oath Ceremony". It has been 15 days since the status got changed online, but I am yet to receive the physical AP document on hand.
Could you please update whether you received the physical AP document before your travel out of the country on 11/28?

My attorney finally received the AP documents on hand, 16 days after the online status had changed to "Document Production or Oath Ceremony".
At least, now I don't have to think about postponing my Tickets !!!

I self applied for my spouse and myself on Oct. 4th online. Both our cases were approved on Oct. 20th and we received the approved copies today by mail. If you discount Oct. 4th (as it was a Sunday), it took 16 days for approval and 10 days to receive the approved AP. On a side note, I had subscribed for text alerts for both our cases and got the approval notification as soon as the case status was updated :-).

I returned from India last Sunday i.e 13th June via Frankfurt.
The Lufthansa staff in India nor the authorities in Germany asked for a US visa, they just looked at my AP and let me through.

I am not disputing the fact the forum is used to post issues. But check who are all asking the accountability...? People who never donated a dime. How can they expect and question accountability for others money. First they will have to give and ask what happened to their money and how it was spend.
I dont want a non-donor come and ask how my donation was spend....
I'll offer 2 other perspectives to look at this
say you did not contribute or did not even vote for the politician who represents your district....do you still demand accountability? why? cause that politician is representing you... whether you like it or not
IV represents a common cause whether the GC seekers like it or not so it should not surprise you when they ask for accountability
As a second perspective
Say you are an investor and a hedge fun manager comes to you with a great investment in a company. Do you blindly trust what the hedge fund manager does with your money or do you want details about the investment and the company?
Nothing wrong with seeking information about the organization you want to invest in
Rather than being mad/frustrated you should be happy about a prospective interested investor!!

Opened SR on November 13th
Send DHS Form 7001 on December 3rd 2007
Faxed NSC on December 14th 2007
Received receipt for DHS Form 7001 on December 14th 2007
Faxed NSC again on January 3rd 2008
My application package got returned to my attorney�s office on Jan 5th
For I-140 they mentioned that the check has expired which was true as my company issues a check valid only for 45 days!!
On I-485 they have mentioned several reasons
Send the application to Texas Service Center
Visa dates are not available
It is our policy to return the entire package even if there is something missing in just one application
The application had the CSC stamp on it showing they received it on July 27th. They letter had December 23rd date
I called the USCIS National customer service at 1 800 375 5283 on Jan 9th at 10:00 AM
I explained the situation to level 1 she transferred me to an IO. After explaining the situation in detail, and providing the information on the return letter. IO advised to do the following
For I-140 include a New Check with the old Fee
For I-485/I-131/I-765 include the check with the old Fee
He informed me to send the applications (concurrent Filing) to Texas Service Center (with the old fee) along with proof of delivery confirmation and a cover letter explaining the situation in detail, as the application has the CSC '07 JUL 07 mark on it there will not be any issues.
My attorney resubmitted the application with the cover letter on Jan 10th.
Checks got cashed on Feb 1st 2008
Waiting for receipt notice, keeping my fingers crossed.

What she says is the case will be processed per RD (FP, Name Check etc.). There is no surprise there. Once it comes to approvable state, it'll be shelved until a visa number becomes available. Once visa numbers are available, they'll be assigned per PD (and not RD).

So this means someone whose I-485 was filed earlier stands a better chance of getting the GC as long his/her priority date is current.
I wish USCIS had a better logic on processing cases.

I'm not sure everyone who is eligible to apply is out of the woods yet. For instance, if the new bill passes and the May 15th date remains, then all 140 and 485 applications filed after that date will be null and void. So, I guess we still need to keep our focus on changing the bill in it's current form. Thoughts anyone ?

I certainly understand some of your frustration, having lived in this country for long, and having lived in 6 states on both the coasts. However, we need to put the frustration into action.
You can try contacting ACLU or AILA or whatever you have in mind. Not sure if the courts can help without a change in the law. Even getting members to contribute small amount of money, and writing a letter is not easy. IV has formulated a strategy get administrative fixes, lets get behind that. If there is a better alternative, lets work on that. Take the initiative.

Last week my wife came through Frankfurt from India and used AP with no ATV. No issues !
I guess sooner or later they will start enforcing the rule and it is safe to carry ATV.

I guess we have another thing to work on as an IV community now...IV needs to prioritize and mobilize resources to alleviate this problem. And guys, this time please participate...or else work from home and risk loosing your job...OR travel by bus/train OR .......I am tired...already.
