"Now why would i meet a lawmaker as a representative of IV if i believe what IV articulates impacts EB3 adversly"
shows your lack of understanding of advocacy. Grass-roots advocacy works from the ground up rather than top-down.
I am glad that after learning a few facts, your grievance has changed from "no one is doing anything for EB3" to "more should be done for EB3". thats a good start.
This "discussion" has been entertaining but its time to end it. Good Luck to you. And do try to participate in grass-roots advocacy - the way it is meant to be and not the way you understand it (i.e. others should do all the work while I complain).
Well what can i say it took less that 24 hours to get shot down again.
No one in EB3 is questioning IV's sincearity. What is being question is the approach which is impacting EB3
No one is yelling out a lie. What is being articulated (Not Yelled) is the impact of IV's direction
I have read IV's provisions and i have already stated in another thread that removal of per-country limits is a pipe dream and will never happen how many number of times it gets introduced in congress because it is there since immigration started and is the corner stone of US immigration policy
I will let the rest of your statement without comment because we are going back to the start of this discussion and is of no use name calling

I guess it is time to pack and go back, after seeing all these developments
Here are few sentences from Senator kennedy's concession speach at 1980 Democratic convention in New York
[B]For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.[B]
You can hear the speech at http://www.historyplace.com/speeches/tedkennedy.htm
So guys dont get depressed, As long as people like senator kennedy / Mccain are in senate I have hope.
God bless America.

logiclife,
Please arrange to send your front page post of this thread to all 8400 members again. I am sure most of the member will respond. Some members may not see this webside more often as we do. For me this a defaulted web site now a days. But may not be for everybody!

I got the email today. It is too long. Come to the point quickly.
I don't see any problem in sending such email frequently to persons who have paid less then $200. I get a lot of shameless spams. This is a good cause for the recipient.

We can create a small area within IV forums for people to share knowledge on various non immigration subjects. What do you think?
I think this is a very good idea.

Why do I get a feeling you are incapable of digesting the concept of "Law of the land". There are certain rules that govern PR & Citizenship statuses ( of all countries)and only land mark & ground breaking edicts can alter such laws , and that too very slightly. To put it were tersely "this is a bullshit suggestion" and is really wasting the purpose of this forum. The only reason so many people have responded is that it is "THAT RIDICULOUS"
That's a baseless comment. The law change of 5 yr req. after GC to 3 yr req. after GC for citizenship is procedurally same as any other law change including law change for increased visa numbers for GC. It is not like a change in constitution.
Which law change is easy or hard is an unknown. It depends on the current lawmakers and lobbies.
Having said that I agree EB GC issues are more pressing right now than to try and reduce citizenship wait times

kramer2005 is probably one of those folks stuck in BEC who were so happy when DOS released the July visa bulletin update. They thought it was unfair to them that we were allowed to file 485. And now that there is some hope again for us to file 485, these guys are back to discourage us from pursuing this further.
Ok, we are stopping this stupidity. Happy?
Let's all go home and do nothing.
but wait,,....... what are you doing here on this forum if you feel so strongly...

Reverting back to the original interpretation for allocating unused visa from other category and to oversubscribed country from the current new interpretation seems to be the only possible quick relief to EB3, though EB2 gets affected it is not going to be that severe.
**** Not sure, what is core IV's stand on this. Have not seen any update from core with regards to this ***
If we can approach the USCIS /DOS for Admin fix in this area, this should be possible, given that IV already has some success in the Admin Fix area. But seeing the lack of response from core IV for this particular thread (Overall they do a good job) regarding spill over, visa allocation, makes me this, core IV is not thinking there is an error with the new interpretation or IV was one of the main source that was instrumental for this change. The new spillover helps only India (EB2) looking at the number of pending cases from China and ROW. China hardly has less than 1000 cases prior to Mar '05 PD for EB2.
I'm not sure what happened to fellow EB3 ROW members... These folks at least will be current soon.. and India / China cutoff date will move the later PD very soon.
Comment plz... I would like to see what ROW member thinks... along with folks from oversubscribed countries

It is surprising (rather shocking) to see how a discussion on an EB bill (which might never see the light of day anyway) has degenerated into an oft-repeated rant on how IV does not represent EB3.
When I meet with my lawmaker's office (and when I again meet in Feb), I repeat the IV provisions which are for ALL EB and not any specific category/country. THe problem with EB3 is the with the way the EB system/inventory is set-up. It is stupid to convert a chronic issue into a "IV is not trying" debate. As always, we have lots of armchair critics and few grass-roots workers.
Yes forever_waiting it is surprising and shocking to see how a discussion on an EB Bill which will never see the light of the day has degenerated into an oft-repeated rant
By using the keyword oft-repeated (i will ignore the word rant because only an immature mind will call the other side of a discussion as rant) it would imply that many EB3 members have raised the same concern in this forum before and i am not the first and believe me when i say this i will not be the last also. So that would mean a whole bunch of people (remember eb3 are 50 k and eb2 are only 12k) have the same concern and they have raised the same concern in this same forum so that would mean IV is aware of the concern.
Now what has IV done about it ??
Meeting a lawmaker with the support of IV behind you is not a reflection of a big effort on your side. The power behind that is IV. Now for me or any other EB3 to meet a law maker is not something i would consider an effort since EB3 are willing to put the same effort which you are putting only if they believei n what they are doing. To believe a person needs to feel that they are working for a cause that will impact their situation. Sadly this is missing and that is why EB3 people are cool about the whole meet the law maker process
Regarding the statement I repeat the IV provisions which are for ALL EB and not any specific category/country. THe problem with EB3 is the with the way the EB system/inventory is set-up. can you tell me what specific steps has IV articulated to resolve the specific issue of EB3
By your own definition this is a chronic issue and what we are taught is that any issue which is chronic needs to be redressed and when it is not it becomes a big issue which cannot be handled
As always, there is the name calling stating that EB3 people are armchair critics and whiners but when you are part of a community and you have issues you will air your greviences in the same community not to some one who has no idea or does not care about it
What is really suprising is that in EB community itself EB2 does not care to listen and provide and open discussion about EB3 issues. Now according to me that is shocking
BTW i commend your effort of meeting the law maker but if you introspect the only reason you are making an effort is because you believe your efforts will bear fruit in the form of a GC soon (I believe you are EB2 with a priority date of Apr 08 and current EB2 dates are May 2006)

For having SSN benefits, 10 years of service is (=40 credits) required on US soil. To take those benefits you do not have to be a US citizen. Except for some countries, SSN dept can send the SS check to anywhere if mailing address is provided to it. And Green Card by definition is for "Permanent Residency" meaning as long as you renew your GC, you can be in US during your whole life time without becoming US Citizen.
There are some restrictions. After 10 years, if you opt for the one time payment of your SS benefits, then you can never enter US again.

The USCIS will send you a summons for your fingerprints. You will have to go to wherever they mandate. The fingerprints only have a fifteen month validity.
The medical exams are usually a two day event. One day to do the exams and then they write up the report when they get your blood work results from the lab.
While you are waiting you can work on developing the patience of Job.
You must arrange a Birth Certificate from your country if you do not have one. Sometime it could take a while.

Hi
My wife have H1B approved in 2005.Her stamping was refused on 226(g) section. She came to u.s.a on H4.Now her employer has applied for premium H4 to H1 transfer for her.
We didnot hear anything from them.It is already 2 weeks.
If it goes through.Does she need to go back for stamping to start working.
How the things will be?
How long the process will take (transfer)
If the attorney can help me in this,it is really great and appreicable
thanks

stop this stupidity please
far as i know we did not write the letter.
all we did was send flowers to let people know we were screwed over.
if you don't even want to do that...
hey it's ok to roll over and play dead. but you can do that without bothering to come here, can't you?
iv has not raised any security related issues as a policy. we have not denigrated uscis for working efficiently either. all we asked was to honor the july bulletin.
so what stupidity should be stop dear kramer?

My daugther's date of birth is 03/18/1988. We filed I-485 together in 02,June 2007. We all recieved I-140 approval and I-485 receipt.
I would like to know whether my daughter will age out in 03/18/2009 or 03/18/2010?.Your daughter will NOT aged out. We filed 485 and 140 1 mo before our son 21-st birthday, got GC 3 years later.

Look out for AAPL. Stocks getting clobbred in the after hours as Jobs announced he is taking a medical leave. Also guys in forex watch EUR/GBP.
If I do not see nervousness in the markets then I think tomorrow I am going to buy Oracle, Wal-Mart, Devon and may be Cisco. Expected return by BOB's inauguration 10%.
For Novices - do not buy SMALL Cap and Do not buy stocks < $5 (as suggested by Chintu25)
