I like the title! I am fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you see it ) of actually having the name Job. I remember when I bought my first mac many moons ago and actually thinking that his name was pronounced the same as mine except for the "s" at the end. :p

If you go all out with an Xserve config (including a 7 TB RAID) the price tag comes just shy of $100,000.

I have a feeling Leopard will blow everyone away with all the cool features. But most of all everyone is forgeting that it will be the first true 64bit OS. It will unlease the potential many only dreamed of in applications.

Combine this with 3D glasses technology, and you will have everything to simulate real life 3D: seeing an object from two different angles at once + being able to change your viewing angle by just moving your head! This will probably look very cool but I think this head tracking 3D stuff is enough for most things now.

Independent studies have found Wikipedia to be about as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica, with Wikipedia having longer articles that Britannica.
But the damn site is all voluntary, no real authority. People could change something on less looked at articles and nobody'd no the difference! My sister's professors do not allow their students to you Wikipedia! Just because something's longer doesn't mean it's bettter! If you've ever used Encyclopaedia Brittanica or the World Book, the authors are pros on the subject, not just some bum that's obcessed with Google!

Hmm, it seems like this thread has gravitated towards the issue of immigration. :D
This is what I'm thinking: I'm thinking that if we weren't so dependent on foreign sources of crude oil, we wouldn't need costly military bases all over the world to protect our sources of oil; and we wouldn't need to go to war every time a country wants to use a different form of currency to buy crude oil. What would be the situation if WE were the ones exporting energy? What if the United Stated of America, suddenly became the world's number one exporting country of biofuels, such as cyanobacteria diesel fuel? Wouldn't that make a major difference in the health of our empire?
EDIT: Maybe we wouldn't need to be an empire if we were the number one exporter of energy.

Depends on what you are doing in Enterprise. Think Reprographics. :apple:
Racks of servers for Reprography?
That can be handled by a desktop/workstation for the computing end, while the real work is done by the printer technology used to generate the actual output (banners, blueprints, ...).

If I'm threatened with a dried rose petal I probably wouldn't back down.
If I'm threatened with a car, or a gun, I'd probably back right down. Without hesitation.
If something is dangerous, it's not a good idea to challenge it.
What about an banana?

It's great to see responses by of those who see the taking of the laptop was wrong. I was at first bothered earlier responders who so easily concurred with the "rules". It's interesting how some people will give up their civil rights, or the rights of others. Anyway, glad you got your computer back.

I'm inclined to believe they're real, and I like them :) Expos for Safari tabs? It's like they read my mind. I hope they're real come Monday.
Hey, numbskull, is "purpoted" even a word??
And did you look at the FULL size screenshots floating around? Muy suspicious. Don't get your hopes up, bud.

all these rumors are so sick! why should apple release two ipads in one year? that does not make any sense at all. next ipad will probably be the same like the current anyway, they'll add more memory, a faster chip and a better camera and that's it. and maybe they'll also release a third color like silver or pink. but that's it!
i don't want to hear all those rumors anymore if they are so silly. i think the blogs should not pick up every stupid rumor and blow it out of proportion.

On the issue of installing software and copying music/movies without a disk drive. Am I the only one that avoids disks as much as possible already? If I can't immediately download an application I'm considerably less interested in purchasing it. I can think of only two pieces of software I bought this year that came on physical media and one of them was Logic. I've downloaded about 18GB of software just since yesterday (some Adobe demos and Steam games) and I hardly have the best connection in the world. I'm ready for physical media to die.

Android US market share grows by 7% but the top Android OEM's marketshare didn't change much. So does that mean it's the "smaller" OEMs (HTC, rebranded phones) sales that are accounting for the Android growth?

Business customers will get it before the end of the year. It will be a half arsed release that even Microsoft doesn't expect anyone to actually deploy,...
Have you actually used the Vista RC builds? Hardly half-assed.
Vista will be ready soon. Unfortunately, there isn't enough time to get Vista loaded onto systems for the Saturnalia buying orgy - so Microsoft was forced to delay the consumer release until after the winter solstice.
In any event, this will probably mean that in January that Vista will be a pretty solid system. Microsoft will be able to find and fix issues found during the business rollout, so that the January release can be "service pack 1", or at least contain a patch rollup.
It seems to me that the .1 updates to OSX have come pretty soon after release for the 10.3 and 10.4 - so there's nothing new about a bunch of odd problems showing up when a new system is released to the public.

What i find hilarious about people being afraid of the gvernment statement is that if the gov wants ur info, they will take it. Apple really isnt the people to be afraid of. If the gov wanted totrack you, bitch they will. They dont need phones to do it either. They will make a new day of the week just to make you gone.
The State department, FBI, NSA, CIA etc can track your through the central phone company with out a warrant in less then a few minutes, they even have private satellite channels, i just wanted to mention this becuase some use the police BS claiming that its good to find perpetrators using a iphone, no its not, to legally prosecute someone you need a warrant from the district attorneys office or hard evidence like a video to indict them.
Even cops use police jammers and dont need iphones, also they listen in on the phone lines before they actually respond to a call, these so called APPLE TECHS posting here to back up apple as the new big brother are clearly accomplices in what might be a cooperate espionage in my opinion, the only justification i can think of for Apple to of risked facing violations more serious then Google and Facebook which are (free services), we paid for these devices which is also a huge difference. , now everyone wants to know if these apps who collected emails and political views last year where apples own developers indulging on spying.
