Not that I care, I am wondering whether the extra red buttons on my name came up because some people did not like the article? then those suckers could write to Vivek Wadhwa or to AAAs (publisher of Science journal) and carry on giving me red buttons while keep licking their EAD and AP papers.

after all that ensued....most likely they will not back out on their July 17th statement that they will honor Orig July VB.
Now talking to just one lady and asking her 12 times means nothing.....
Most of th eCSR do not have the knowledge or do not care and will given u random answers...if u call second time another CSR would give u s different explanation altogether...so unless we see appplications being rejected we have no grounds to believe USCIS is backing away from its Promise....and nether can we do anything about it untill we see mass rejections for application filed on or before Aug 17th

My wife and kids will be traveling next week to India via Frankfurt. They have approved AP. H4 visa has expired on the passport. Last when I checked the German consulate website about 2 months ago, it said that under exception 4 for India, we don't need a transit visa since we have an approved AP.
Now the website does not mention about AP at all, only unexpired visa or GC for no transit visa.
Any recent experiences for travel by Lufthansa through Frankfurt on AP.
Please share, as we do not have enough time to apply for transit visa now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BACKGROUND & TALKING POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HR5882 was sponsored by Congresswoman Lofgren and Congressman Sensenbrenner. This bill recaptures all the unused visa numbers that have been lost since 1992 due to processing delays in Employment based category and Family category. It is estimated that 216000 green cards will be recaptured which would help to eleviate the employment based backlogs.
Please use the instructions provided below to make the phone calls.
(1) Call the congressman/woman office and request to speak with the aide who handles Legislative and Immigration matters
2) If they are not available leave a VM for them -
"I would like Representative "Representative Name" to support HR 5882, bill to recapture the green cards lost due to processing and bureaucratic delays. As you may already know that this is a bi-partisan bill with wide bipartisan support in the house and will help improve American competitiveness & reduce the back logs associated with USCIS. This bill is non controversial measures that will help US to stay competitive with a highly educated and skilled work force and address family based backlogs also.
To All congress-critters:
In a nutshell, this bill allows USCIS to manage their workflow more effectively, which provides better customer service, and will eventually lead to better turn-around times.
To Democrats: More people will be able to get their citizenship in reasonable times.
To Republicans: Companies will be able to attract more talent which improves economic performance."
(3) As usual Do NOT get into the CIR issue or illegal Immigration. If the aide is confusing with CIR or illegal immigration, just tell them that these are legal immigration bills.
(4) If the aide asks whether you belong to the district or not, tell them NO if you don't. Mention to them that you already spoke with your representative and would like the congressman/congresswoman
support.
The list of key representatives along with their contact information is provided in this post.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If asked please say that you are a member of Immigration Voice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the staffer ask - "did you call the representative in your area", say that -
"Yes I did. Congressman/Congresswoman is a prominent member of Immigration Sub-committee which makes him a national figure of great importance. Congressman's decision and support is very important for people inside and outside of your district and as such I urge you and the Congressman to support HR5882."

Disgusted at this situation.
However hoping against hopes we stay here away from our country.
The land of dreams is becoming a big DREAM,hard to realize but all of us will get there, sooner or later.
But yes, oppurtunity cost is more now as India is progressing much faster ;on an individual level maybe India is becoming a Better Reality (not a dream);Trying to analyze, maybe can decide better soon as things become more clearer in a few months regards the Economy here and likewise back home:)

Simple only. Indians have not needed to brainwash other populations a la Lord Macaulay or invent fine things like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism). Hence, why invest in social sciences?
Two major reasons Indians would want to invest in Social Sciences are this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casteism) (invented by Indians) and this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion), both of which are meshed into Indian politics and society and are far divisive and violence-causing than this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism).
As for Lord Macaulay, we (Desis) should credit him for being here; see this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Macaulay) and this (http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritchett/00generallinks/macaulay/txt_minute_education_1835.html).

Please don't pour water on the efforts done by the core team and active IV members. There were very hectic activities that went on yesterday on the Capitol hill. There were IV core team members physically present in D.C. We are hopefull something would be done. As everybody's aware this is a very difficult time because of the elections but even in this difficult scenario we successfully got our provisions pass thru the Senate. It wasn't enough as we have to get our provisions thru both the houses. It is extremely difficult situation but it is not impossible, so we have to keep pushing and be assertive, but at the same time we have to pay QGA their monthly fees so we need money to get going....
I don't think there is anything wrong in asking for money, but it did not have to be done on the thread that was clearly going to raise hopes and catch attention. Especially as the core team IV likes to keep things "close to its chest," (this came from a member) I don't see why there was any need to post that thread yesterday.

If someone does not have a NRE or NRO account, just a simple savings and Checkings account with FD (Called CD's here) ---------- All of this is in GOVT owned Banks, Like SBI, Punjab national bank, Vijaya Bank etc.
Before coming to US the sum of money in all these accounts and FD's (Fixed Deposits) was less than $10K. {Principle + interest}
Now after we came here we funded these accounts with money sent from US (TAX PAID MONEY WAS SENT FROM US BANK ACCOUNTS).
Also the interest which we get on these Accounts annually do not exceed $10K............... I believe that they should not look into the Principle amount (since this was already a tax paid money)
Apart from this no other source of income is there in India.
Do we still need to file this form ??

hi kodak, could you if possible let meknow when your I-485 was approved and when did you apply for I-485 and what is your PD, EB category, nationality.
I filed 485 on my own in 2005 as there was no time to get the lawyer's signature for G-28. After I got the receipts, I had lawyer represent me.
There was only one RFE for the medicals which I had not submitted. My app was approved within one month of sending the medicals.
Believe me, I had only 5 hours to prepare my packet as the labor was approved on Sep 30, 2005 in the morning. After I sent the packet, I could think of so many mistakes I made like instead of sending color copies of the passport, I sent B&W. I forgot to sign the tax returns.
However I had no problems other than the RFE for the medicals as I had no time to get it done in the limited time that I had.

I get this response from the USCIS calculator: Your Expected Date of Adjudication is Aug, 2010.
My priority date is Sept -05, EB3-ROW.
My lawyer says that there is very little chance of me getting greencard within 3 years.
I'm not sure which is correct. Does anyone have an idea?
See the first post in the thread that explains the reason for difference in the tools.

May 21st, 2005 is cut off date for family based immigration and not EB based immigration. It's very confusing that both cut off dates are May 21st but different year.
Was this date right. isn't the date May21st, 2005. That's what they say in the merit-based system.
