The botton line is this new bill (merit based system) along with any cut off dates mentioned in this bill only becomes effective on 10/1/2008. The introduction of this bill in the senate was on May 21st, 2007.
IF your PD is current and/or believe that you get your green card approved by 10/1/2008 regardless of when you started your GC process then you don't have anything to worry about. OR if you already have you I-140 filed before May 21st, 2007 then also you don't have anything to worry about.
That's my understanding. If someone else feels otherwise, feel free to disagree.
So what would one do if he wants to start applying for the LC or I-140 now ?

Finally i got my EAD approved after 116 days of physical and mental torture by USCIS and i guess now i need to fight for the Physical card. I thank the postings on this forum and it really helped me in every stage. I guess finally only my congressman could help.

getting DTAp and MMR is understandable as some or all INS doc charge extra for these two.Why would you get it done at county medical center? Beats me.
Who will evaluate the skin test, if it is given in community HC? The community doctor. Will the INS doctor take it as a valid conclusion. Who will do X-ray? The county doctor or INS Doctor? Who will give the x-ray report? The county doctor or INS doctor? Why didn't the INS designate the county medical centers for INS examination?
Let's not be penny wise and pound foolish. Let the INS doctor do the 'full-cycle' TB test and put that straight into I-693.
Currently the scene is pretty bad. I was not late too. I started calling on Thursday itself and could not get anything local. we are driving 170 miles away for an appt next week.
We got Tetanus, MMR and TB done at county health center. Still my TB reading is to be done. But they have agreed to give complete report with DOB and Full name etc. The USCIS civil surgeon's office was OK with us bringing in most of the stuff and the local county health dept also gave us their fax numbers + contact info in case the civil surgeon's office has any questions. So you have to make sure your communication to all locations and documentation is clear..no spelling mistakes etc.
As far as xray evaluation ; wherever you have the TB put they will be the ones who should order for a xray if necessary and they will be ones who read you xray.
In my case we have to go to same county but different health center for xray and we are doing it without them ordering it..

Doesn't make sense :confused: since the total pending 485s are 233,816. With a total available 140,000 visas minus around 15% for consular process makes 119,000 visas available per year (assuming numbers aren't wasted and spillover is efficiently applied). How come it will take another 15 years for my number to become current? Something's wrong with the IV calculator. But thanks for the effort. I had travel plans in Apr 2024, will cancel them now since my number will come up for adjudication in that month.;) Thanks for the headsup! :rolleyes:

I know its not the right question in this forum but I want to know if any of you parents had a late talking child. If yes then please let me know when they started talking and if there is anything I can do from my side. I have heard few of my friends who saying it happens with Indian kids who are raised here becuase of the bilingual affect.
Just a concerned father.

Just remember those of you with teenage children who have not yet applied for adjustment of status, if nothing changes in the employment based system you too could have an aged out child on your hands in the future.
If children are in "Status of Adjustment(I-485)" there are not effected by this aged out issue. What do they need when they go to college?? appreciate some pointers??
