I just did infopass today... no luck... I still wonder what is the print facility doing ? btw IV sent out the details of all of us to USCIS... Hope they would do something better...

So far my journey to various offices

** Congress man office -- USCIS acknowledges printing delays from 15-30 days.
** Ombudsman office -- Ack ICPS delay , Response waited from USCIS
** Faxed USCIS - no response
** Called USCIS - Same BS - Wait
** Infopass - Nothing can be done, wait
** IV - Info sent , lets wait...

Based on these I have decided and pledged one thing, Will visit my local congressman office / Senator's office will request their help for Immigration reform..every month. I am really fed up. I assume we all are.


Only god knows whatz going on...
I advise and request each one of you to atleast take your time not more than 1 hr every month, there is fabulous material create by IV core on gettign prepped before meeting with senators / Congress man aide(s) or reps itself. More the momemtum we build more awareness and next time when you have issue(god forbid) they will quickly work on it.... Only you can bring change with your case.

Travelled back on April 4th. Did call German Consulate in New York before booking the ticket. Not sure if something had changed after that. You can call the consulate and confirm the same.

When I called, I was directed to the link that I provided to verify the eligibility. Also I was recommended to take a print out and carry with me if the air lines asks for more details.

Wear some warm clothes in Frankfurt as the transfer of flights invloves a long walk between the terminals and a bus ride.

Hello, one of my friend had recently filed for H1B and needs guidance

Current Status : H1B expired, applied for renewal, converted to Premium processing to be able to renew drivers licence. He got an RFE asking tons of details about the company. The company responded, and was told by the lawyer that he is stuck in background check. He tried to contact a senators office to get the status and was informed by the senators office that USCIS intends to send him an denial notice and the case is with the clerical staff to send the denial, he would hear shortly from his lawyer.

His I-94 has already expired, he has a 140 approved recently and has not yet filed 485.

What are the immediate steps he needs to take to maintain his status in the country.

Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

I know two friends and here is their story (quite typical)

1. "A" came in 1999 as H1, accordingly to company (company was in NY) policy applied for regular labor in 2000 EB3 category, went to labor backlog, applied for perm in 2005, went retrogession in 2005. Basically he is still in line.
2. "B" came on January 2004 as H1 for a company in Delware. Everything was current (labor was processing in 1 month for RIR) and got the GC by October 2004.

Is Priority Date fair?

I agree will all your points except for #4. Why should someone who came to this country with an intention to study on F1 visa get priority over someone who applied for GC ? :confused: It does not make any sense to give priority based on POE date. I think the current priority date concept with the labor filing date is the right one. All USCIS has to do is follow FIFO based on this date.

If i get the tests done and get a sealed I-693 and tell the doctor that i will attach proof for some vaccinations before filing to my application does that invalidate your I-693?


In other words do i absolutely have to have all vaccination proof before going to the doctor or i can furnish it later as well as a separate proof along with sealed envelope?

You get the form after you have satisfied the doctor that you passed the exam, including the vaccinations. I would be surprised if you would be able to do this, but doctors vary widely

Do you have an old AP that is valid till Sept 19,2010. If then you are good. The IO has done it right. If you apply for renewal, then they will extend from the expiry of the old one. This was the case for me last 3 times, but this time, the approved on July 11 and made it valid one year from approval date and I lost couple months due to this.

No, the OLD AP ws valid until 07/23/2010 only.

I have always paid using my bank's bill payment feature. To be fair - there was a gap of a couple of months as I did not notice that the instruction has expired - but it was set up again at the beginning of this month.

So far - I have not had an issue with the donor forum access. However, the access seems to be disabled now.
