I am going to a doctor in boston , charging 170 in cash. not sure why he is accepting cash only.
Any suggestions for doctors around Boston / South NH?
One doctor I talked to quoted 160/person just for physical (vaccinations / blood work extra and X-ray extra). They does not do vaccinations but will give a list. I have had most vaccinations but dont have any records (its way back so I dont expect to get any now) - might have to take them again. Some one suggested a blood work can prove that - what test is that do I have to request a specific blood work and is it allowed by USCIS docs?
Thanks.

Hello,
I just finished my Medical examination, but my doctor has not given Vericella vaccination for me and my wife. The doctor said it is not required.
Please advice is 'vercella' required or not?
Thanks
varicella is chicken pox vaccination. if you have had chicken pox then it's generally not required. And if you are planning to have kids then your wife should wait for 3-6 months after the vaccination.

How about Computerworld.com and Lou Dobbs show? :D Are you ready to speak in their show or you are asking only because you want to be only on Larry King live and anything else is below standard.
I think IV should not post any friendly media contacts on the forum. People will start misusing them.
I am asking because i want to know what it is. I am not asking media person's email just which/what media. Read carefully before commenting.

No. I didn't since I don't have any travel plans. I will wait for couple of weeks and then I will open a SR. Actually this delay is good for me, I will get few extra months to plan my next year trip.
boy this is scary. i have my travel plans coming up soon. i efiled mine at NSC on aug 6th..and have travel plans in nov 3rd week and not sure if i have to move my travel dates..
Hi Viji, since yours is more than 90 days, did you open up a SR, or expedite it in anyway? more than 90 days for AP is ridiculous.

Before you criticize IV pls read all the posts written by us. Every now and then members demand updates. Well, the updates are on the homepage and the posts we write. There are media stories that have appeared recently. There are events we have been participating and there are action items like state chapters we want all members to participate.
Pls. ask yourself if you have signed up yet for the state chapters, contributed money and efforts, brought more members into IV... before you ask IV to answer you everytime you make demands. Update cannot be a date we can tell you when our bill is coming up. All our efforts are going to lead to that final result. It is the combined effort of every IV member that will produce results not just an effort of some small group of IV members. Every member of IV is important in the success of our organization.
We undestand that there is frustration and we too are frustrated due to retrogression and this is our motivation to work as a volunteer. We do ask members to contribute from time to time because it is needed in order to continue our struggle. Core members have not taken a single dollar on travel whenever they have travelled to DC or elsewhere. That itself is a testament to the personal dedication and sacrifice of some core members that have spent a lot of their savings till now. It was only in the recent MA event we were happy to hear invitation to stay in their places instead of hotel, from the IV membners that attended.
We try to update members and give them some realistic updates rather than speculations. Other lawyer websites and groups post some speculations to stir up their members and show that they are actively working. Pls. understand that we would like to give update when there is anything concrete to share. IV is on top of it and we are aggresively working and whenever we see even a small window of opportunity we jump on it and do whatever we can.
Pls continue to visit IV siteregularly so that you can see all the activites we are planning these days. After the MA event, this Thursday and Friday some core members are travelling to NJ to attend the event in Princeton. This weekend from 9 dec till 13 I will be in Indianapolis. So any local members that would like to interact with me for volunteer effort on the state chapter should contact me.

can you please help me understand Pappu. Shouldn't this be a good bill to increase fines for those companies who do fraud in H1B and L1? I am not sure why we have to oppose this. May be I am not getting the big picture and not trying to be sarcastic. A little bit of explanation will be helpful since increasing the fines for fraud seems to be a good thing.
The 50/50 clause prohibits companies from obtaining any additional work visas if they have more than 50 U.S. employees and more than 50 percent of their entire U.S. workforce is made up of H-1B or L-1 visa holders.
On the face of it this may seem like OK, this company is based in the US, shouldnt they have a majority of US workers on staff. OK but if you follow that argument then shouldnt every company be truly representative of the US population and have 14% hispanic people, 12% african-american people, 51% women, etc.
The US free market enterprise system and laws allow for companies to legally hire the best people to help the company succeed. Now if that is not convincing to you then all those Silicon Valley companies like Google, Yahoo, Intel, eBay, etc. which are all Global powerhouses started by Immigrants to the US, should they have been allowed to start their companies or should they have to pass some sort of quota test of Immigrants starting companies first?
Finally if Senators in Congress are so adament about countries protecting their local population and culture, etc. why for example when Australia and the US were negotiating their Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) back in 2004-5 when the issue of media ownership and local content on TV come up did the US Congress demand Australia drop all regulations.
Australian television networks were regulated to have at least 50% (magic number!!) of locally produced content as part of their programming which the US Congress heavily lobbied and funded via campaign contributions by the US media and entertainment companies demanded be removed as a requirement. Thus allowing more US Content on Australian TV and many Australians working locally in the industry out of work.
The truth is as we have said before Senator Durbin and Senator Grassley ultimately are trying to granstand with this bill and targeting Immigrants who cannot vote and have minimal rights as their target. Lets hope this bill gets defeated along with the ideology of blame the Immigrant given the United States was built and has prospered from Day 1 to today because of Immigrants.

I am still debating in my mind where I want to settle so
I am very open to idea. Here's my take on your points:
2. Agree and Disagree. Security has nothing to do with the citizenship status. Crime rates are way lower in most US cities. This isn't about bad mouthing India. Its just the way it is. Stability ... very wide topic. If it is social stability it is obviously higher in India.
Well, not so in LA, NY , Chicago or for that matter even in SF downtown. If you want to invite trouble, you can find it in any corner of the world. I feel that crimes in US may be less in number but are far more violent than in India. Punishments far more stringent.Statistics show that USA ranked alongside Saudi, Iran, China in terms of judicial executions. To me that is a dubious distinction and an indicator of how tolerant the real society is. In a nutshell, the crime here is more violent and there are more gun and drug related violences. (Now I am not including kashmir or Bihar in my statistics. We all know whats the truth there)

Please don't for get that EB1 and EB2 ROW get approved each year for over 70K (even in recession 2001, 2002). And they ususally get approved fast. The pending shown on USCIS is only for RFE, etc (about 10% of what they approved this year).
So the queue is fluid, and we can not assum 140K is only for pending, more realistic view is 60K for pending. And also last year EB2-I get about 15K with favorable spillover, and the current pending is over 45K, so 3 years for EB2-I at lest (hopefully).
We didn't count other PERM filing which will come in quere if they didn't get a chance to be in July 2007.

As I said, we should work together for recaptha, it looks like the only solution. Hispanic immigration group fight their own now as they realize CIR is unrealistic, Obama has done them good with the Hispanic supreme court judge and health care (illegal also as a topic) is more of a concern.
Economy also makes immigration like a taboo even for legal application.
Recapture might not need congress involvement, and that, for me, at least, is the only way.
Hopefully it helps USCIS as well. They hired tons of people to process fiasco case, and now no more income, in red (as they plan to increase fees), so move PD forward will help them get more applications. But economically trapping those July 2007 applicants are the best since they have to pay EAD/AP every year or two years (over $600 for over 100K pending case, that is $60M). New 485 filings don't need to pay EAD/AP every year. If they think of their jobs, they might keep backlog forever until new fee increase approved. It's a new kind of slavery.

If there is no sub labor, I have no problem with increasing GCs. Otherwise increasing GCs without increasing EBs is going to be horrible. I have been in the US for over 11 yrs. People who came here in 2002 are getting GCs. Is that fair? Tell me that?
Plus, let me tell you one thing. This forum is not really fighting to get H1Bs increased. I apologize if I said we should try to stop H1Bs. And don't worry, that is not gonna happen.
well the bottomline is that all u guys came here on a h-1b and sud remember that, its like me getting the greencard and saying we sud stop further greencards coz my jobs been taking away from the new gc's coz the economy cannot sustain them, ur talking no diffrent from the same people u chastise
