I am not sure how your T and R is ,American Accent has T/R in unique way
American accent uses toungue movements in a specific way (just like any languague has its own movements)
It depends from person to person ,and the teacher helped me personally as per my need
And yes Im still practising my Exercises
IMHO, Any one will not get the accent because of training. One will come closer to the accent only over time. How ever, it will never be perfect.
On the flip side, why would any Highly Skilled Immigrant working in American companies want to learn "accent" off of work. Their work place offers a lot than the website suggested.

I was in the same situation where I came on B1 and then moved to H1 after a years wait here. Ultimately got my EAD and AP. Still i was reluctant to travel down to INdia, but had to do to attend a marriage of my wife's brother. So finally after 8 yrs, I went to India and I took all necessary documentation including AP, 485 receipt, H1 approval notice, paystubs. Getting through IAD was a breeze and did not take more than 10 minutes. So don't worry and as long as your AP is valid, you should not worry much.

Is by any chance your passport is expiring by Nov 2010? Anyway, your H1 extension will be for 3 years as per my knowledge as your I140 is approved for morethan 180 days.

I think, you should check with an Immigration Attorney before you risk your wife�s multiple entry Visitor Visa.
My take:
AFAIK, staying beyond the I-94 expiration date will abandon her Visitor Visa, and she could be denied entry next time.
In your wife�s case, you have applied for a change-of-status, however a decision has not yet been made, so she should leave the country before the I-94 expiration date and come back later after the F1 is approved. But, leaving the country while the change-of-status application is pending might cancel the change-of-status application, and not the underlying F1 application. So, your wife may have to get a F1 visa stamping abroad to come back later.
The above said information is purely based on my knowledge and may vary from an Attorney�s view.

I would donate 500$ if I get the GC before 2012. If not I would reduce it by 50$ a year there after.
I understand your frustration, but its like holding IV responsible for getting your GC - that does not seem right.
Contributing now is important; and after getting gc's, its equally important to support the people who are still stuck in the process.

This procedure is called follow to join where your i-485 will be approved and your wife will receive your green card after 1 year in India. She has to go to a US consulate in India for an interview before receiving her immigrant visa which converts to green card when she enters USA automatically. Pls pm me your email id.

"july 12 2007" will be the important date. It will be there as an USCIS stamp in the App. You can re-submit this app in Oct 2007 even if there is no visa available for your PD in Oct, 2007. It will be treated as if it was received on "july 12 2007".

My friend was in India (out of the U.S.) while his green card got approved. The card was mailed to his U.S. home address. Another friend picked up his mail and mailed the green card to my friend in India. My friend got back into the U.S. with his green card. If the lawyer is correct, how did my friend do it?
Card production is only ordered after your I-485 is approved. If you leave the U.S. after your I-485 is approved (although you didn't receive the physical card), logically you should not be able to use Advance Parole any longer since your AP was based on pending I-485.
The best solution probably would be to go to a local USCIS office, show them your online status and get a stamp on your passport.

My son is in custody and I am bonding him out this week;
ICE charged him deportable as a Aggrevated Felon becuase ;
He had a PETTY LARCENY in 2009 (misdemeanor) - orginal sentance to 60 days weekend intermittent jail and 3 years probation;
He violated probation and was given a year of weekends by the judge;
Now ICE are charging him as a AF saying he is deportable because his record shows 365 sentance for the petty larceny!!!
I an others disagree and that 'a year of weekends' is NOT a sentance of a year or a suspended year;
Any case files or history anyone - your answers are welcomed!

It's OK to stay while change of status (COS) is pending if COS was filed before I-94 expiration (your case). Even though your wife will be technically out of status after 1/3/09, she is not going to accumulate unlawful presence because her stay is authorized by US Attorney General. Out of status is not a big deal. A person who came on H1 and filed for AOS does not have any status if H1 expires, but that person is lawfully present in US.
So wait for a decision on COS and if it is denied, your wife has 180 days to get a lawful status or to pack and leave without any adverse consequences.

My H1B visa stamping application finally got approved after 2 months at the Mumbai consulate. But I travelled back on the AP a month back as my employer started getting impatient.
I have received an email from them asking to submit the passport for stamping as the administrative processing on the application is completed.
I am planning to write back to them that I no longer need a visa stamp for travel as I travelled back on the AP. Would this be a bad idea ?
Has anyone withdrawn their H1B visa stamping application before ?
Appreciate any information on this.
