They'll just use fix-it and ship it next week :)
XCode 3 is way old. It was released with Leopard. Since then, we've only really had minor revisions (3.1, 3.2) and very infrequent intervals (3.2 released with snow leopard). I would expect Apple have been working on this for a very long time already.
Many of those features (e.g. the static analyser, which came with 3.2) could very well have been the result of development done for XCode 4.
Since the product was announced which such fanfare at WWDC, I would imagine a release would happen in the next few months. Possibly with the iPad's OS4 update (predicted to be around late August/September).
EDIT: In case anybody was worried, XCode 4 by default installs in to its own folder (/Xcode4) and can co-exist with 3.X. It can open 3.X projects and does not "upgrade" them or make them incompatible with earlier versions.
This is true, but Apple has also said NOT to use Xcode 4 if you are working on a project you wish to submit to the app store.

The iLock isn't the worst idea I've ever heard of, actually... proximity keys exist for cars, why not homes? There would be some obstacles to overcome, obviously, but it's not a terrible idea in principle...
iBox is my favourite spoof, I think. :D
And as long as we're posting spoofs... this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw2nkoGLhrE) deserves a nod. An oldie, but a goodie.

Okay Im giving my parents my mac mini. Im also waiting for the new iMac to come out. Its going to be a few months until I get one. In the mean time I have a MBA so I'll be fine. My question is:
#1) whats the best way for to copy all my files, music, movies, photos, and apps to a external hard drive?
#2) once all my files are transferred to the external HD can I still use my itunes with my MBA by hooking it up to the external drive through USB?
THX

I do have an idea which could help Apple. If they want to hear it they can email me.
What is your opinion on Cisco and Apple's dispute?
I'm sure they are dying to hear your plan.
I say may the best man (company) win. To be honest, and this is just opinion, I think Cisco threw the "iPhone" out there because they knew the real iPhone was coming (as did we all) and wanted to bank on it somehow, just like I'm sure iPhone-related email addresses were swiped up recently too.
I could be wrong, but prove it.

Got my Belkin KVM switch today.. my initial impressions are that its really nice. Once you press the button to switch, it takes about a second for the keyboard and mouse to become usable, but that beats unplugging them from the back of the PC then plugging them into the Mini!!
I'll update the post after a few weeks if anything strange starts happening, but right now i'm happy. 25 and it does what i want, and i didnt have to install any drivers on my PC.. awesome..

Ive have 2 Lacie Porsche drives and they both seem great. One 80gb and one 250gb. If you are only planning to use the external for backup storage then i think the porsche would be perfect cause there is no fan. but if you plan on using the external for extensive rendering and etc. then the D2 would be better.

Nearly without fail, everyone who tries to enforce a photography ban is some form of rent-a-cop (or the DC Park Police, if you're downtown). In fact, he was wearing the usual RTC parking monitor garb, so yes. Paul Blart, self-appointed Apple Event Press Liaison :D
I know. Back when the movie 'Anchorman' came out, I got free passes to a sneak peak at the Arlington Cinema & Draft. Traffic was (as usual) crappy to get there and we were running in at the last second when I got stopped by a rent a cop telling me I couldn't bring my crappy old flip phone.
I said, "What do you think I'm going to do with it? Make a bootleg video with a phone that doesn't record video?"
The guy says, "Well, you know the lingo!"
I said, "I know the lingo because I'm not a moron! It would be impossible for my phone to capture even 1 frame per second."
The guy then threatened me so we left and have never returned to that place. I hate rent a cops with a passion...

Question about incase slider, is it as bad with bubbling up screen protectors as I've heard? The case is EXACTLY what I've been looking for but I NEED a screen protector. I've been looking at the power source hd anti glare.

Hi folks
I think I'd like to get a handheld gaming machine, something a little different to relax with. It seems from what I've read the DS lite has better games. I'm into RPG/classic type nintendo games (for the nostalgia) on a handheld.
The psp seems to have better graphics and all, but the main thing I'm not so hot about the DS is the stylus. Do I NEED this to play the games? Does this not get annoying, having to pick up the stylus, touch something, put it down and get on the D-pad again? I just can't see how the stylus integrates well.
Anyone with a DS care to chime in? Thanks!
The DS is the best handheld ever created, maybe even one of the best gaming systems in history. The library is simply amazing. Sure, it lacks in a few genres (western RPGs, beat em ups, sports), but there are so many incredible games for the system.
The stylus is hardly an issue. Sure, some of the games heavily use the stylus (and some don't use it at all), and quite a few were completely built around that concept and hardly use any buttons, but those are also some of the best games on the system (Trauma Center, The World Ends With You, Elite Beat Agents, Ninja Gaiden or Soul Bubbles for example). Games that heavily use the stylus usually only use the dpad and/ or one of the shoulder buttons though, so there isn't much switching around.
And the games aren't that expensive, either. They are usually a lot cheaper than PC games, and even cheaper than PSP games, and usually drop in price after just a few weeks or months. The library is already huge, you have a lot of catching up to do, so you might as well start with some of the cheaper classics.
I would, however, suggest to wait until E3 in June, when Nintendo will reveal their next generation handheld to the public. It will be released within the next nine months and backwards compatible with the DS and DSi library.

I was gonna say you'd be a pretty sad bastard to go for a shirt only, but I'm sure if your buying something else and explain your situation, they'll oblige you.
Common... you could say that about any launch event. Why que when you could just go the next day... the fun is in being around like minded people.

The resolution is set at what the monitors are. I am not sure what you mean by setting it to "the same as the computer"....?
This issue happens regardless of what programs are running. The program you see on the screenshot is Safari, with www.purple.us (the site has an embedded video). But this problem happens when Safari isn't running at all. In fact, it happens when I have quit out of all running apps (aside from Finder, obviously)
I would love it if the cause could be discovered before I do a reinstall.

Apple always credits responsible reporters of security issues.
They don't always. Just like they don't always acknowledge security issues within OSX.

Exactly. I mean, how many of these could they possible sell? And imagine the costs of making one. There would (most probably) be a whole bunch of dead pixels...

Thanks for pointing this out. I asked the seller, so I'll just have to wait and see what s/he says. The neck does look strong, though, in my opinion, because it's holding up the screen in the first picture. Maybe the seller just put it down to show what it can do? I don't know.
What does this mean?
The neck if I remember correctly is about a $120.00 - 140.00 part then there's all the labor that goes with changing it out. About 1.5 - 2 hrs. Almost all of them wear out over time. They can stay totally upright and stay there for a picture, but if you bump the table, or start to adjust the height, it will just want to go all the way down. (sometimes crashing down breaking the bezel) So its all the way up, or all the way down when the neck goes bad( usually the latter).
It also looks like the bezel ( the frame around the screen) is not quite attached fully, and may be broken and partially coming off. The gap between the two shows what looks like that. See attached picture
What does Gigabit Eithernet mean?
This may be a bit much here but I'll try to explain. If you're not going to connect to the internet wirelessly, via Airport card you will then be using the Ethernet port and some type of Ethernet cable. Its the big telephone jack looking port on the computer with this symbol above it <•••>
Gigabit Eithernet (1000 Base T) is a computer networking standard that has been around since about 2000 in some Mac models. The iMac line of Mac computers since 2005 have come standard with it. What this means is any computer with this ability can transfer data at a rate of 1000 Mbp/s ( 1000 megabits per second AKA, 1 gigabit a second) over Ethernet. This may not seem important to most people, but you may notice slow streaming video at times and the like when using something slower like 10/100.
The model that you are looking at has 10/100 where a Gigabit port would show as 10/100/1000 so making it simple:
10mbs/100mbs/1000mbit/s
10Mbit/s..............10 megabits per second obsolete
100Mbit/s.............100 megabits per second can use cat5 cables
1000Mbit/s...........1000 megabits per second can use cat5e and cat6
Now that I fed you all of that info, here's what it means to you:
