Why would they do that, they will just stick to their plans as always. Maybe with a month early for the ipod touch, like the ipad 2.

3mbit/sec is still pretty slow for this. That's only 375K bytes/sec. A 600MB media file (the size of a CD, and apx. the size of an H.264-compressed full-length SD video) would take about a half-hour to transfer.
Now, with my 30mbit/sec Internet service, I expect to be able to transfer, from the biggest sites anyway, at maybe 20mbit/sec. At certain times of the day, I get the full 30. At 20, though, that 30 minutes shrinks to 4 minutes.
In my post I was referring to megabytes not megabits. I get a solid 50megabits down and 10megabits up. I think this should be sufficient to get the system up and running with a possible upgrade in the future.
Having said that, I am usually working with files less than your 600MB benchmark because they are all webpage elements.
Sorry for the confusion, thank you all for your advice. I've been carefully reading each post and appreciate your continued support.

My work is sending myself and another developer to FlashForward....which is being hosted by Macworld this year.
I'll be there for the keynote and to check out some of the new "toys" everyone has to offer.
This is the first time I am going to a Macworld, so it should be interesting to see what it is like...Live:D

I almost find it more likely that an oled keyset, similar to this would be stuck in (http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/) a mac before a entirely touchpad interface, but then again, I'm not an apple exec.

According to the info in iTunes the 4.3.3 update file has exactly the same size as 4.3.2 had: 666.2 MB for my iPhone 4.

Hmmm, I'm not seeing any improvement in ppd even though the gtx 480 is humming right along. Foldingmon indicates it is doing about 14k ppd so I should see some difference, I will have to triple check to make sure I'm listed a the donor and not anonymous, hate to be loosing that many points
yeah i would double check. you never know. are you running the console client? or the system tray one?

I got a lot more demands, just to lazy to continue..
Sounds like you should try another OS, maybe Wndows.
I'm pretty happy with 10.6, and I'm glad Apple trimmed it down instead of bloating it up. But I would like a different launcher than the current Dock. I have lots if programs I regularly use. I use folders in the Dock, but that's no better than Wndows' drop-down menus. Maybe it would be more efficient to have a trigger like the one for Dashboard -- hit a function key and your most-used apps glide in for selection.

Good comeback. So you haven't done much work in sales, I take it? That's cool, you can just admit that you were wrong, and nobody will think less of you.
No, I'm a prof who designs some of these systems discussed here. I would get laughed out of any meeting where I compare numbers in the manner than you do.
It's absolutely imprecise, but if you're in sales, I understand how it makes sense to simply for the customer.

This just in: orders will ship in the order they were received despite the 4-5 vs. 3-4 week estimates. Meaning, if you ordered an iPad 2 yesterday & received a 4-5 week ship estimate, you will get yours before someone who just now ordered one and received a 3-4 week estimate.
This also just in: estimates are not exact.
Wait wait, but it says estimate, why wouldn't that be exact.
Why are people so stupid? Why would anyone think that an order placed today would ship before one placed 2 weeks ago. Really, soooo stupid!

I think most consumers do not know carbon because they never had something like a racing bicycle made of it.
Many people will think apple has made the product worse or is just trying to safe costs when they see a carbon MacBook for the first time because they think it is "plastic" and not something high tech.

So, some crazy bitch climbs on the hood of your car to keep you from leaving and you just have to put up with that?
I'm sorry, I'm not saying the guy should get a free pass, but at some point her own idiocy has to bear some of the blame for this.
i agree to some degree
gender flip: i lived with some friends who were dating. they got into a huge argument and she tried to leave. he didn't want her to so he stood in front of her car and she continued moving, hitting him and busting the windshield up.
he came inside, mad of course, and said "i can't believe she hit me"
i told him "i can't believe you stood in front of a car of a mad woman"
both are most always to blame if they cannot separate for a "cool down period".

I liked the first version of Portal. It was nice of Steam to have the first one for free when I first got it. I am not sure if I am going to get the new version yet since $50 does seem a bit too much for that type of game.
I am glad that it is coming out at the same time that releases for other systems as well as opposed to having to wait several months to get a Mac port.

I've spent the past 8 hours playing this (I can't believe how fast time flew! I thought maybe 3 hours at the most!) Its an EXCELLENT game so far. I'm pretty sure I'm almost finished with it. The puzzles are a step up difficulty wise and the game splits into many different areas. The game is much longer than the first one.
