Reboot - no difference. Unplug MX1000 cradle from power - no difference. Plug mouse cradle into USB port on laptop, instead of on hub - works. Pull out - macbook kernel panics on me :(

Well I fixed the video problem... I have been using a KVM to route all video to one monitor that way I don't have to keep unplugging the monitor from each machine as I check it, so I decided to see what would happen if I hooked the monitor directly to the 980x and it works perfectly that way.
Then I tried to load the folding apps and that didn't go so well so I have some more work to do to figure that out.
well glad you got it figured out.
as for the folding apps, let me know what you tried, so i can help you get it working!

Buick Rendezvous, Nissan Cube, post-03 Maxima, 2011 Acura TL, 2001 Toyota Sienna, and so on.
Not that the Juke isn't ugly.
You cheated. He said without mentioned the Aztek so you used its twin. :p
The Rendezvous was the good looking model of the twins( not that it was a hard thing to do.....). But, you think those models are uglier than the Juke?
Those cars are ugly as well, but the Juke is the new Aztek, IMHO.

IMO Apple built this giant datacenter in order to launch its own search engine to compete with Google. Why ?
<snip>
I think they built a giant datacenter to stay in front in the cloud race. With Amazon introducing a cloud service, HP pushing hard for cloud services, and even Microsoft singing the praises of cloud services, I think Apple see the future for selling its products will involve deep cloud integration. In order to do that, they need a cloud. Ergo, datacenter.

One more time: yes, I think the guy should have stopped, but I think she bears as much blame as she does. He tried to diffuse a hostile situation by leaving; her actions indicated that she insisted it continue. You have no idea what transpired.

Apple has a tall hill to climb if they want to beat FREE google maps on android? But since it will be on iOS, ignorance is bliss, and people will think its the best thing ever.
You keep your widgets and "free" Google maps on Android. I'll take a robust catalog of quality apps on iOS.
At least I can buy a good nav app for iOS. You can't buy (at any price) a vast number of the highly-polished and functional applications and games I can get on my iOS devices.
Enjoy the compromise.

So the deal about their location storage was what I expected then, other than my gov't requirement theory... An app/feature that hasn't come to fruition yet, hence also why Apple was sneaky about it (they are as we know very reluctant about discussing upcoming features and only if they really must). I have a feeling there's a similar explanation to why Google is storing user locations on the local device too.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
Seriously, folks... There are far worse privacy problems, such as RFID tags in passports. Researchers in the UK have already "cracked" that security. RFID tags on credit cards have also been "cloned".
Who cares if someone gets your unique ID of your Nike shoe transmitter? It's a useless number. If someone gets your passport or credit card information, that's far worse.

It's funny, but wherever I go, I always see people with iPhones. My train, on plane trips between Chicago and NYC, during meetings, etc. I am amazed the number is only 5% - but I guess it's the circles that I am in.
As a shareholder I'm happy to see them everywhere.
As a user its getting boring and predictable.
Thankfully I have a few of the latest ,exciting, big & beautiful Android Smartphones as my primary devices.

I'd get the New Yorker in a minute if it was even remotely priced the way it would be for a print subscription. I'd pay even more--due to the convenience factor, but not $5 an issue.
The demand is not there because their prices are unrealistic.
Especially having to pay twice if you are already a print subscriber. Why?

people value what they value. do you think they are getting what they paid for in terms of education? probably not.
I have a hard time believing that even working a part-time job would pay for $70-$90/month data plan. Remember they have to pay rent, food, utilities. Or they are living with parents.

Don't know what that is (going to assume it's a jailbroken app), but the EyeTV app works officially in both 3G and Wi-fi environments.
Wait, you mean to say that they allowed an app that streams video content over 3g into the app store?! So that I could stream television stations to my iPhone when I'm not even connected to wifi? Seriously?!? I mean, wasn't that the whole problem with Sling? If that's the case then I'm really interested.
I myself have downloaded the app and have gotten video streaming to work on my home wifi network, but am having troubles "verifying my My Eyetv account" on my iPhone. And right now I'm wayyyy too tired to really deal with it. :P Anyone else having that issue??
Edit: And yes I know that they already have 3g video streaming (i.e., youtube) on the iPhone, but what I meant was...other similar apps have had issues in the past, so I'm just surprised that this got through so easily. Sorry, once again, I am *very* tired right now

Why did you have to remind me?
Because you were becoming irrationally exuberant - I thought that you needed some balance ;) .
I also wonder about this Intel diagram:
http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/intel-thunderbolt-3.jpg(click to enlarge)
If this applies to the Imac TBolt ports, then the two TBolt ports in fact share bandwidth from the single PCIe x4 connection. The combined max throughput of the two ports would be no better than that of a single TBolt port.
Another moot point, though, since no TBolt devices can be purchased.

I’m pretty sure the end-to-end processing of your movements will take a bit of time making the 30 vs. 60 lag negligible. And 60 Hz is used because it that’s where most people would not notice excessive blur with their own eyes...which are faster than the human body. In the extreme case where you can throw a punch and retract it so fast that it can’t be captured in 30 fps…you’d be better off replacing Bruce Lee in the archives rather than playing games. :D
