It's because it uses server CPUs, all of which, except for the bone-stock model will outperform the iMac i7. They are considerably more expensive, and are required for dual CPU systems. They also use far better GPUs, have expandability, etc.
I understand the i7 vs Xeon argument for the single CPU systems, however, a pro buying a workstation will be expecting a workstation-grade CPU, not a consumer model.
Go check out workstations from Dell or HP. They are more expensive than the Mac Pro, believe it or not.

Kind of looks like America is an empire, doesn't it? America has a military presence all around the world. That's like Rome who had a military presence all around the then known world. At the beginning of 2000, America was so powerful and had so much money under Bill Clinton's control, that if it wanted to, they could have taken over the whole world.
If your point is that the US is overdeployed and has a military presence in countries it certainly has no place being, that is well-taken.
That said, there is a difference in "ruling" a territory (as I take the definition you quoted to mean) and simply having boots on the ground.

IMO Apple built this giant datacenter in order to launch its own search engine to compete with Google. Why ?
<snip>
I think they built a giant datacenter to stay in front in the cloud race. With Amazon introducing a cloud service, HP pushing hard for cloud services, and even Microsoft singing the praises of cloud services, I think Apple see the future for selling its products will involve deep cloud integration. In order to do that, they need a cloud. Ergo, datacenter.

At Apple's prices, it's hard to understand how any business can justify switching to Xserve. Sorry, but I can buy several Dells with the same CPUs and RAM for what Apple is charging. This is unbelieveable. I canb buy SuperMicro or Tyan 1U barebones and assemble all the remaining CPUs/components myself and set it up in about 2 to 3 hours and probably still come out 1/5th the price of the Xserve. This just makes absolutely no sense at all.

Apple dugg a huge hole for themselves. They played with the marketing and PR department promising a truly revolutionary product like it is the case with each new iteration of the iphone and then the ppl believed and thought they REALLY REALLY need to have it.
Once they got it in their hands, they got offended that it is not working like they were told. Its understandable on one hand but on the other its just pure irony that the ppl really believe they need a new cell phone every year.
Its both sad and genius on Apples part.

Part of the blame goes to Apple and their money grubbing ways, in that they want a 30% cut of gross sub $. This makes it far less attractive for publishers to do this. Also, I too would love a unified model, but I am sure Apple would also want a slice of the action here as well.
you think when amazon or any grocery store sells a magazine or a subscription, or any other avenue that they don't take a cut of the revenue? It is just rare for everyone to publicly know what that number is.

Also, I'm not talking about refugees. Also, my Auntie and Uncle both work for the social housing department for Bristol city council. I've heard terrible stories. British people, who are pretty much homeless, getting put down the bottom of the list for a priority newly legal immigrant who has 8 kids, etc. The british people who also have kids. We're afraid of upsetting people. Therefore we leave our own to stuffer, and help others. Also it's good in the last few years charities are now paying to home illegal immigrants, etc.
Also see this part "newly arrived migrants were being given priority for scarce social housing over British-born families", still a massive debate on going about this. This is STILL happening.
Unless you are suggesting something has changed in the last two years what has the date of the article got to do with it,if it has changed please supply a source(no your relatives won't do).If you insist on presenting your personal prejudices as fact this discussion will go nowhere.I'm still waiting for a source for the 800000 people who can work but don't by the way.

Super basic.
Better exception handling in Finder.
When you copy files and some already exist, rather than terminating the action with no clue what was the hold-up, complete it with a list of exceptions for dealing with as a separate matter.
There are other examples of where exception handling could be added.
Think of all the features we had under text based computers that were LOST when we went to graphical based computers, and reinstall them.
Even though many of the files are media, their names are text. :D
Funny suggestion: Finder personalities.

Yeah I like the vertical traffic lights too. Makes the top border smaller which is good. It helps by not taking as much pixels for the top border.

It's kinda hard to do that in band, which is next. I have like 5 more minutes on here.
Too bad. If memory serves the last event was quite late starting, so you may be able to catch up with the exciting stuff (the first 20 minutes will probably be about sales figures and the new iMac anyway). Good luck!

Even worse in a communist country where the "employer" and the government might be one and the same.
Clearly, you never served in our military. We have our own code of justice, but without even going to that extreme, if you think that civilians aren't jailed or worse in the United States and even outside our borders because of our corporate collusion, you're living in dreamland. We've got entire societies displaced by our corporate interests, dissenters jailed and their democratically elected leaders shot, and that's just what's on the record. Plenty of blood on everybody's hands.
It's what everybody gets when even a few people aren't self sufficient and dependent on money.

haha, that was great, could not stop laughing and going after AT&T was perfect, forget driving call drops, how about walk call drops.
And the Drama continues. Now we just need jobs talking about the issue, and we have a full blow move made for tv.

The phone looks good but I don't like the seeing the sensor like that all the time. This whole is that a parking lot or is he driving debate, I can't really tell but I do see his RPM meter not at zero looks like it's close to 10 so he could be idle somewhere?
It's a parking lot and the shot was obviously taken when the sun is still far above the horizon.

I remember when Nintendo first announced that their next portable would display 3D this kind of technology was what many thought they meant.
Imagine how awesome it would be if this was combined with the 3DS tech, not only to make it possible for you to look around objects like shown in the video (that should be possible with software on the 3DS) but also to adjust the displays to send the two images to where your eyes are, not just straight forward and force you to keep the device still.

here's hoping they have fixed the light leakage issue plaguing the iPads that have shipped thus far otherwise they may as well push shipping Estimates out 6 months because these things are defective
I love it when Google/Samsung/Sony/Motorola employees create new MacRumors accounts (join date Mar 2011) just to try to propagate garbage like this. Obviously trying to start a new antennagate. If you can't beat them in sales, try to start some bogus stories in the blogs and hope the media picks up on it.
THIS JUST IN: My iPad 2 is absolutely fine and its in my hands right now. Anybody else who really has one complaining?
