Nobody really answered my question. I hate to repost it again just trying to find an answer. I tried to call the at&t rep and they don't know what going on.
I had iPhone 3GS 32GB had it about almost a year. They let me do an early upgrade for the new iPhone 4 in June when it came out for the price of $299 with a two year agreement.
The question I have is let just say the new iPhone 5 comes out with the same price point let say June release like last year. By this new $50 thing does that mean I pay for $549 price point or can I just pay the $299 plus the two year agreement like I did last year?

If the iPhone were to come out in June, you would not be able to get the $299 price with a new two year agreement. You would have to pay the $549 if you want the new phone immediately.
The reason that AT&T was so generous with their upgrades last summer is because they knew that the iPhone was coming to Verizon and they wanted to lock in as many new two year contracts as possible.
Here's what you do if you want the $299 price and you are not eligible:
1) Open a new line on your account. That will get you the new iPhone and the $299 price. You will have to get a new number tough.
2) Next, call and cancel the line on your 3gs. The ETF should be about $205.
3) Sell your iPhone 4 on Ebay or Craigslist. If it's in really good shape, you should be able to get $400-$450 easy. This will cover your ETF and leave you about $200 extra.

The screen may not change on the next revision. So there may be no need to change production.

We won't know for sure until the WDC... if no iPhone5 then, then fall it may be!

At the AT&T store there, they said they'd be open at 8am...
The last time I was at the Apple store (Friday or Saturday), they had no info. Since then, though, we've heard here that Apple stores are opening at 8, also...

It's worth noting that SUV and truck sales are growing again as the economy slowly recovers. All the hype about green vehicles that came out at the height of the recession might evaporate if people have money to burn again. Americans won't stop buying V6 and V8 SUVs until fuel prices permanently cross the $4/gal threshold.

I am thinking of pulling the trigger with some new hardware. As a student, I know a route I can take is the student Apple Developer program. After searching for the ADC store to use the discount I notice its gone! Does anyone know if this program still exists?

This question is for those with new-ish (Intel) laptops who check the option to convert high bitrate files to 128-kbps AAC before copying to the Shuffle:
Does it take long to convert the files? I have a 1GHz TiBook, and it is taking forever to get those files on there with the option checked...

The studios want Apple to limit the number of iPods that the downloads can be played on. Do they not realise that the entire point of the iTunes Store is to drive sales of the highly profitable iPods? I cannot see Apple agreeing.

tempted...just trying to hedge my bets whether it'll be easier getting one at the trafford centre amongst the crazy people queuing up from 2am ish...knowing theyre gonna have a few hundred in stock...or whether to goto preston, where they have very little stock for tomorrow!
